Another Ballband Cloth.... how long does it take you?

I'm curious as to how long it takes most people to knit a ballband dishcloth. If you've kept track of how long it took you, please comment. I'd like to know if I'm the slowest poke in the bunch or if I'm right there with everyone else.

Like you all, I'm loving trying out all the color combinations of cotton yarns. I think that's one of the unique contributions of the book: to get us all to think of the way we can do even the simplest and lowliest of projects (like the dishcloth) in an artful and pleasing way.

It was my first attempt at the Ballband Dishcloth. It was fun to do, and I'm ready to try another.

Comments:
I started my first one one evening, worked on it both commutes (which are 45 minutes to an hour each way), maybe a little at lunch, and finished it up at night. So I'm guessing I took maybe 4 hours? I'm not the fastest knitter in the world.

I'm not really sure, it sat on my couch for a few days and I worked on it here and there. A few hours? I'll have to pay attention on the next one! Once I figured out what I was doing it seemed to go really fast, but that's probably just 'cuz I was having fun. :)

i would say about 3-4 hours for me. now that i have it down, i'm hoping it wont take as much time. the greatest thing about this project is its portability in my opionion. it's tiny and there's not too much yarn that goes with it, so you can just through it in your purse and go!

It takes me about 2 hours to do one of the ball band ones (sitting in German class) and about 3 to do a round one. I don't think I could have done them that quickly without a deadline though.

The first one took me about four hours, now about 2.5 that I've done a few.

I've worked on a few over a few days. Probably 2-3 hours. Of course I rarely get to just sit and knit that long at once. The first one took the longest. But by the second one I didn't need to look at the pattern any more and it started going much quicker.

I like the color combo you used.

Thanks all for giving me an idea of your times. I'm still fairly slow, but you're right about getting faster as you go along and do more washcloths. Maybe I'll get up to your speed soon! I hope so. :)

I'm guessing the one I made took about 3.5 hours... I'm sure the next one would be faster!

I'm a beginner but 2 rows (1/6 of dishcloth) takes me about 40 min. So I'm a slowpoke for sure.
