My First Baby Kimono

Not only am I new to Mason Dixon, I am a new knitter. Just wanted to say thanks for the great patterns. I have devoured the book. This is my first baby kimono, modeled by a friend's six-month-old son, Trevor. On the needles now is a scribble lace scarf for a friend's birthday. Thanks Ann and Kay!

Comments:
The baby looks happy and relaxed in your lovely kimono. Thanks for giving us an idea of how the sweater fits a baby. Couldn't be cuter in action.

Great job and congrats, I never would have tried that as a new knitter so you should be very proud.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about--love to see the kimonos on real live bouncing babies! Great job (and should also dispel any fears about gender appropriateness).

Adorable kimono! Did you modify the size to fit the six month old?

Love it and the baby is so cute. How did you adjust the sizing for the older baby?

awwww.. how cute -- it is great to see the kimono on a baby....

Thanks for all the great comments. I knit this with Bernat Cotton Tots on size 7 needles. My gauge was 20 sts x 28 rows = 4". I was al little concerned about gender appropriateness also, but love how it looks!
