Log Cabin

OK, so i finally started. I've been dreaming about this since I bought the book, weeks ago. I'm using Plymouth Cotton Naturale. I just picked up a few skeins a few days ago, and need to pick up more in the blues and greens to get much further. I'm gonna play with mixing the varigated yarns with solids to get the look i'm going for. And maybe even solids with solids. Half of it will be on the yellow/orange/red side and the other half yellow/blue/green I want to get darker as i move to the outside, and add some purple somewhere, if i can get taht. maybe some black. Any ideas, thoughts, comments would be appreciated. Excuse the punctuation and spelling, only a couple hours sleep, and i cant seem to get to bed for thinking about this.

What a great idea! I have been playing with different versions myself. I was thinking of doing solids on one side and varigated (sp?) on the other. Now that I see yours...I'm thinking that could work. Thanks for the help!
I totally understand the 'cant get to bed for thinking about this' thing...LOL. Your start looks good! (applause)
Love the colors. How do you like the yarn. I'm using the same type, and I like it very much, but it's going to be a heavy blanket. Mine's the one on the chair outside shown earlier in the KAL.
I love your colors so far... can't wait to see the progress.
