Hi everyone! This is my first post to the group, but I've been reading and checking out everyone's projects since I started reading the book and discovered the KAL a month or so ago. I've been so inspired by the book and by seeing everyone's interpretations of the patterns here.
I've never been much of a fan of cotton yarn, but the subliminal messages in MDK must have infiltrated my brain and I'm now a convert. I've knitted these BallBand dishrags. The green & white is Peaches 'n Creme and the brown & green is Sugar 'n Cream. I discovered the SnC shrank quite a bit in the wash and isn't quite as soft as the PnC. But they both work just as well at their intended purpose! I have a third BallBand on the needles now using yarn leftover from my other MDK project...Absorba.
I fell in love with this the moment I saw it. It is knit in SnC 1 strand of Cream, 1 strand of Soft Violet and 2 strands of Ecru on size 13 needles. It was very fast knitting, only took a week from start to finish. I'm so thrilled with how it turned out, I just ordered more yarn to make rugs for my kitchen, one for inside the door and one for in front of the sink. I ordered 6 cones of Peaches 'n Creme directly from Elmore Pisgah. Only $6.64/cone! I also ordered their PnC color card set. They are sold out at the moment, but I was told they'll backorder them and ship when available.
Thanks to everyone for sharing all your great projects. Hopefully I'll have more to post soon!
