Hello, new to MD KAL

I am thrilled to join the Mason Dixon KAL. I love the patterns and the down-to-earth style in which the book is written. Everyone's projects look great.

My first project has been the ball band dish cloths. I'm planning to try the felted boxes next. I'm also eyeing the linen hand towels, they are so lovely. Since I'm trying to work from my stash only, can anyone tell me whether Tahki Cotton Classic could sub for Euroflax Originals?

Comments:
I don't think that would be a good substitution. The Cotton Classic is "mercerized" and would not be very absorbent.

Euroflax looses it's "sheen" in the wash and becomes soft and pliant.

DMC has a linen blend yarn called Senso. It is inexpensive and might work better for the handtowels. I have some in my stash, but haven't tried it yet.

Good luck with all your projects. Note that the knitting needle size on at least one addition of the book is wrong for the boxes. It should be a 13 or 15. You can find a correction on the site.

Thanks for the information. I guess I'll just have to use my 'free day' (Stashalong) to order something suitable for the hand towels.

I did print out the corrections so I'm aware of the correct needle size for the boxes. Can't wait to try them.
